Reeds Motor Group was founded by two ambitious brothers as the first motor retailing company of its kind in 1910. In the beginning, the company focussed on providing maintenance and repair services from their location in central Cape Town. The years that followed saw unexpected growth and success.
In 1949 the business was taken over by Bothner Group. These expansions eventually led to the business being taken over by independent group REEDS Delta (Pty) Ltd just before the turn of the century before settling into their latest ownership by CFAO Motors South Africa.
This extensive history of business growth that emerged from the entrepreneurial dreams of Arthur and Alfred Reed has led to the Reeds Motor Group having a majority share of Opel, Chevrolet and Isuzu parts, cars and the service market in the Western Cape. Since its inception, they have also opened several branches, including Reeds Bellville.
