Boston Primary School has an after school care system that operates under the strict control of the school’s governing body. This care is open to all learners enrolled at the school and is under complete supervision.
The objective of this space is to create a safe environment for students to make friends and develop their respect for others. This centre strives to provide various activities to develop social, physical and mental stimulation.
The school offers private music lessons run by professional music teachers. Skills learnt from these lessons are presented in an annual music concert held at the end of the year. Lessons are available for the following instruments:
Help2Read is a well-known non-profit organisation with the goal of erasing illiteracy in South Africa. This intervention programme runs at several primary schools across the country. They provide struggling students with one-on-one attention with volunteers. This school currently has a hand full of volunteers helping children from grades R to 4 fall in love with reading!
