The Settlers High School
Established in 1965, The Settlers High School has grown to become a school full of academic achievements and success in its community endeavours. The exceptional, passionate staff that leads this high school has carried it to where it is today and continues to do so!
This school is located between the border of Bellville and Parow. It sports a stunning view of Table Mountain and is centrally located to bustling communities. Settlers High has come far from its humble beginnings and is now known as one of the Western Cape’s top achieving schools.
Their vision
The Settlers High School strives to be more than only an educational space. Each day resets the goal to work towards producing well-rounded individuals who will be an asset to their future workplaces and environments. This is achieved by highlighting the importance of boundaries and consistently implementing the school’s code of conduct. It is further enforced by addressing social issues head on and using these circumstances as an opportunity to teach valuable life skills and develop students’ social conscience.
What to expect from this school
Students are expected to wear their uniform with pride wherever they go, whether on school grounds or in public. This value aims to teach students the importance of being an ambassador in all they do.
The Settlers High School sees the importance of providing their learners with leadership opportunities throughout their schooling career. This is to ensure that their learners have the skills needed to lead in all spheres of life when they depart from the school.
This is enforced through their unique leadership concept of a school council. This space was created to establish a platform for learners to voice their opinions and have them heard. This council meets to present proposals on changes they would like to implement.
Their environment is driven by the spirit of caring and embraces diversity to fight prejudice on all levels. These actions are guided by various policies that have been meticulously created and fairly approved.
